Hotel heiress, fashion designer and socialite Paris Hilton has just been subpoenaed as a witness in a criminal case.

"She's not charged with anything," District Attorney's Spokeswoman Jane Robison said to media. "She just happens to be a witness."

The case involves burglary, robbery, kidnapping and carjacking charges against Darnell Riley, 28, who allegedly broke into porn creator Joe Francis' home and tried to kidnap him.

Paris Hilton's testimony is wanted as one of Riley's associates allegedly told her of Ridley's alleged involvement.

The subpoena was given to Paris Hilton at her Hollywood Hills home last week.

Paris Hilton "will comply with the law", but "I don't see what contribution, if any, she's going to be able to make in that case," said Elliot Mintz, the spokesman of Paris Hilton.

Being a witness in a criminal trial is surely going to be fun for Paris Hilton, as she had never done that before.
